January 31st         Trekking in Southwest Crete.
Peter Reynolds presents an illustrated travelogue of day-hikes along the coastal footpaths, up around the hills behind Paleochora and down the Irini and Imbros Gorges.

February 28th       Leros.
Guest speaker, Les Roberts, talks about this Dodecanese island, rich in history dating back to the Neolithic period due to its strategic location in the south-east Aegean.

March 27th            Rhubarb and Greek Roots.

April 24th              The Italian invasion of Greece 1940.
The Italian invasion of Greece in October 1940 was one of Mussolini's major war time disasters. John Fryer will present some of this history with the aid of contemporary newspaper cartoons.

May 29th               Holidays in Samos
Maggie and Malcolm tell us about their holiday experiences on this green and verdant Northern Sporades island lying in the north-east Aegean, at one point just 2 kms off the coast of Turkey.

June 26th              AGM & Quiz
After the annual report and accounts, we invite everyone to pit their wits in small teams in what is sure to be a hugely entertaining Greek general knowledge brain teaser.

July 19th                Evening BBQ Supper Party
This year the summer garden party, panagiria, will be held at the home of Loretta & John Proctor in Malvern. As always we are warmly invited to bring a little sunshine, Greek food and wine to share, and dance, and sing…

September 25th     Film Night
This year the film is the Costas Ferris celebrated 'Rebetico', a fictionalised account of the life of the famous singer Marika Ninou. The sound track by Stavros Xarkarkos is justly famous.

October 30th         Restoring a House on Crete.
In April 2005 Chris Lloyd packed her bags and left the familiar surroundings of Malvern to restore a village house near Rethymnon. We welcome her back for a further update.

November 27th     The Philhellenes
Kate Rankine has agreed to tell us more about Lord Byron and other intrepid British ambassadors, who over the years have distinguished themselves in Greece.

December 7th            Annual Christmas Dinner
We return again to The Quay Restaurant in Worcester. As always, a relaxing opportunity to socialise with good food, good wine and very warm camaraderie. A perfect end to the year.
